Sight restored using stem cells

I found this article at gizmag, just somehow stumbled across it, and its fairly exciting.  The concept of non-evasive repair, to the human eye just using a contact lens and stem cells (from another portion of the eye, or from another good eye) is amazing.  Being one person with eye problems, this is fairly fascinating for me, as I have had retinal detatchment in my left eye, and minor laser (not lasic) surgery to strengthen my retina in the right eye.  Maybe in a year or so I will be able to get this type of ‘contact’ lense and put it in my eye, and have my own stem cells repair the damaged part of the retina? Who knows right now, but certainly the prospect looks amazing!
